This holiday season, the Historic Mounds Theater in St. Paul is presenting the 10th anniversary production of A Klingon Christmas Carol, a retelling of the classic Charles Dickens tale from the original Klingon text, tlhIngan ram nI’ bom or the “Klingon Long Night’s Song.” The play runs December 1st – 23rd at the Historic Mounds Theater. Tickets are on sale now at moundstheater.org.

Originally created as a fundraiser for Commedia Beauregard theatre company, Klingon Christmas Carol was written in 2007 by Christopher Kidder-Mostrom and Sasha Warren and was originally translated by Laura Thurston, Bill Hedrick and Christopher Kidder-Mostrom. Since 2007, the show has expanded to productions in Chicago, Cincinnati, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles. This year’s production at the Mounds Theater is directed by Aaron Coker and is the first to feature a female SQuja’ (Scrooge), played by Lana Rosario. The show is presented entirely in the Klingon language with English supertitles.
