This new romantic comedy combines the magic and importance of words with sparkling wit and nuance.
Stephanie, a pretty, man-hating (for which she has a good reason) actress finds herself at a party in the New York City apartment of Laurence, a young British literary critic, and his friend Pete, an aspiring poet. 
She becomes very distressed at finding herself more and more attracted to Laurence, and sets out to prove to herself that he is no different from other men.  Or such is her intention...

About the playwright -

Born on a farm near Hampton, Iowa, George Howard Lambert graduated from the University of Minnesota and later earned a Diplome Superieure in clinical psychology from the University of Paris.  He volunteered for the U.S. Army draft serving in Korea and Japan writing for the Stars and Stripes Newspaper.  He remained in Japan for several years as a foreign journalist on Nippon TV and wrote a book on Japanese culture.  George participated in the 1956 (Melbourne) and the 1960 (Rome) Olympic Games on the U.S. modern pentathlon team for which he won a silver and a bronze medal, and was a member of the U.S. fencing team in the world championships in Paris, 1959.  He had a life long love of words and laguages and for a number of years was an interpreter in French and Japanese for the U.S. State Department, and later became the chief translator for a French environmental engineering firm in Paris.  George was an avid outdoorsman taking a number of solo canoe trips into the Canadian wilderness.  He retired in River Falls, Wisconsin, where he completed his play "A Season for Vivaldi."
