Drama

"The time is out of joint..."

A king has died. His widow has hastily remarried. The king's son has returned home to find rot and corruption beneath the pristine facade of the state. As the nation is thrown into a whirlpool of chaos, lives are uprooted, and revenge, ambition, and madness reign unchecked. Welcome to Elsinore.

Both timeless and strikingly relevant, Shakespeare’s harrowing exploration of identity, justice, and coming-of-age remains one of the greatest and most complex stories in the western canon. Join the SYT Core Ensemble as they delve into the mysterious, unsettling world of Hamlet.

About Shakespearean Youth Theatre:

For seventeen years, Shakespearean Youth Theatre has empowered young people across the Twin Cities to engage with classic literature and create groundbreaking theatre. The foundation of our innovative programming is a core belief in the power of youth voices to transform communities. SYT’s Core Ensemble Program includes a fourteen-week class focused on deep reading, exploration and play analysis, followed by an eight week rehearsal period culminating in a professionally-produced run of the play. SYT also offers workshops, classes, and camps throughout the year at SYT's theatre in Saint Paul.
