From “The Age of Aquarius” to “The Story of Tonight,” join us for Rise Up!, an entertaining and enlightening evening of Broadway songs about passions and politics from groundbreaking musicals like Hair, The Color Purple, Ragtime, Rent, Fun Home, Hairspray, and Hamilton.
Ordway Cabaret features local performers in a cabaret format. This all-new series presents the music of Broadway in a thoroughly modern way: critiquing musicals that overlook the disenfranchised and celebrating those that cast their vote for a better world. The finale and signature song, “A Brand New Day” from The Wiz, is another exhilarating example of how the Broadway musical can make freedom sing!
