PETRI DISH is Skewed Visions' regular and perpetual series of discussions about the relationship between specific works of art and the process of thinking about and creating new work.
SCREEN is our ongoing series of private screenings of fascinating films with discussions (with food and drink). Each month an artist chooses a film to stimulate all of us into a conversation about art.
This time Boris & Katya Oicherman present the first of two films from the Perestroika era of Soviet cinema: Assa (1987) by director Sergei Solovyov. You can see what Katya and Boris have to say about this film here:

The second film in the series, Black Rose is an Emblem of Sorrow, Red Red is an Emblem of Love (1989), is by the same director and will screen March 23.
