The Northfield Arts Guild and director Jay Gilman present The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, a Tony, Olivier, and Drama Desk award winning play by Simon Stephens based on the novel by Mark Haddon.  The Curious Incident in the Dog in the Night-Time plays at the Northfield Arts Guild Theater October 18-27 with Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances at 7:30 pm and Sunday matinees at 2 pm. The Northfield Arts Guild Theater is located at 411 Third Street W, Northfield.

Based on Haddon's beloved mystery novel, Curious Incident follows Christopher Boone, a gifted young man that sees the world differently than those around him. When Christopher discovers his neighbor's dead dog with garden shears sticking out, he decides that he must investigate the mystery of who killed Wellington the dog. Along Christopher's way he meets neighbors he had never interacted with before and records his adventures in a mystery novel that he is writing.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time opens the Guild's 60-Carat season, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Northfield Arts Guild's theater programming. Each show is from one decade of the Guild's history and has never been produced by the Guild before.

Gilman directs a cast of local favorites featuring Sam Temple as Christopher, Susan Dunhaupt as Siobhan, Brendon Etter as Ed, and Andie Moore as Judy, with Megan Proft, Kevin Chapman, Peter Webb, Esme Elzi, and Kristin Sellentine as the Voices of the ensemble.

Tickets and more information are available at The Guild, 304 Division Street South, online at northfieldartsguild.org, or by calling 507-645-8877. General admission tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for seniors and students. Guild members receive a 10% discount on all tickets purchased as part of the season.

The 60 Carat Theater Season is sponsored by Neuger Communications Group and Engage Print.
