"All the world's a stage," declares Jacques in Shakespeare's delightful pastoral comedy As You Like It, "and all the men and women merely players." Come play with us as Rosalind, Orlando, Celia, and the clown Touchstone journey into the Forest of Arden for adventures both romantic and ridiculous.

Twelfth Night, by William Shakespeare, is a beautiful story of loss and renewal, filled with the delightful chaos of mistaken identity, and unrequited love. After Viola and her twin brother Sebastian are separated after a shipwreck, Viola disguises herself as a boy to survive as a servant of the Duke Orsino. She is set the task to woo the lady Olivia is her master’s stead even as she herself falls in love with Orsino, while Olivia falls in love with the disguised Viola. How will these crossed lovers ever come to a happy conclusion?

After a successful run of The Trump Card last season, acclaimed monologist Mike Daisey is back to present his latest work, A People’s History. This new piece begins simply: Daisey finds a copy of the U.S. history textbook from his high school in rural Maine from over twenty five years ago. What follows is a kind of history lesson as only Daisey could teach, contrasting the history he grew up with and a very different book: Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States. In this 18-part performance Daisey tells a history of America—from the first landing of Columbus to the election of Donald Trump—exposing and illuminating with his signature dark humor as he eviscerates the myths we have all helped make. Daisey has been hailed as “the master storyteller” and “one of the finest solo performers of his generation” by The New York Times. He has been compared to a modern-day Mark Twain and a latter-day Orson Welles for his provocative monologues that combine the political and the personal, weaving together secret histories with hilarity and heart.

This Tony Award-winning musical is set in a 1930’s European perfumery, we meet two shop clerks, Amalia and Georg, who, more often than not, don’t see eye-to-eye. What they don’t know is that they both responded to the same “lonely hearts” advertisement in the newspaper. They each live for the love letters they receive from each other, without knowing that the other is the one writing them.

Considered by many to be the most charming musical ever written, She Loves Me is a warm romantic comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old world elegance.

The Augsburg Music Theater Club is proud to present The Drowsy Chaperone! Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Jazz Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another.

With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and The Drowsy Chaperone begins as the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight. Hailed by New York Magazine as "The Perfect Broadway Musical," The Drowsy Chaperone is a masterful meta-musical, poking fun at all the tropes that characterize the musical theatre genre.
