CAE captures the spirit in which the plays of the English Renaissance were originally performed – with immediacy, passion, and as popular entertainment.  To that end, we employ open staging, direct interplay with the audience, and live musical interludes.  We seek to demonstrate why these plays are considered classic and to freshly prove their relevance.

We are seeking adult, non-union men and women of all ages.
Teens 16+ are welcome as interns and ensemble members.
We are especially seeking actors who play musical instruments and actors of color.
Stipends paid to non-ensemble performers, $250-800, varying by project/role.

Please prepare at least one brief monologue (90 seconds or under) from an English play circa 1590 – 1642 that best shows your skill with heightened text.  It may befit you to have a second, contrasting piece.  Please bring a headshot/resume. The role of Falstaff in Merry Wives has been cast.

Auditions will be held Saturday, February 16 in Minneapolis.
