Auditions for a new play for the 2019 Minnesota Fringe Festival

Paradox Productions is holding auditions for a new play, Chocolate Covered Chicken Wings, for the 2019 Minnesota Fringe Festival!

We are looking for three adult actors to play children (ages 11-13) in an exaggerated, theatrical style. We are looking for performers who want to devise and help develop their characters within an established story structure. Come ready to play! Though we are unable to pay people at this time, we offer a chance to play in a positive, supportive, and fun environment with experienced theater artists. Performers will also receive Fringe artist passes and comps as available. Performances will take place in the Augsburg Studio.

It’s Sally’s birthday party and she is determined to have the best party ever! But the only person who shows up is her cooler and older best friend Casey, who moved away. Pranks are played and secrets emerge as Sally and Casey reminisce about their friendship and their best friend, Bruno, while navigating wacky menu items over the loudspeaker and a possibly evil clown.

SALLY - The birthday girl! Sally is excitable, funny, and a bit immature. Though her teasing gets her into trouble, she is a loyal friend.

CASEY - Sally’s best friend who acts older even though she’s only three months older than Sally. She can be intimidating, but everyone still wants to hang out with her. Her family moved away.

BRUNO - Sweet and nerdy with a fondness for the macabre. He is a friend of Sally and Casey.

(*Character relationships and ensemble building are more important to us than gender as written. We are more than happy to consider a wider range of gender expression and edit the characters as needed after casting.)

When: Tuesday, May 7th and Wednesday, May 8th from 7:30 to 10:00pm

Where: Carleton Artist Lofts -  2285 University Ave W, St. Paul, MN 55114
*Street parking is available behind the building alongside Charles Avenue, or across University Avenue.

DO NOT PARK in the lot behind the building, they love to tow.
*Located directly on the Metro Transit Green Line, off the Raymond Avenue stop.

What: Feel free to prepare one of the scenes attached, or tell us an interesting story from your childhood. We will spend some time with you individually as well and play in small groups.

*Expect to stay for approximately 30 mins to an hour depending on how much fun we’re having. We want to respect everyone’s time, if you have a time restriction please let us know and we will plan accordingly for you.
