Have you ever wondered what Meisner Technique is? What is the difference between “Method Acting” and “Meisner Technique”?  Whether you’re an actor looking to see if The Meisner Technique is right for you, or a director wondering how to coach Meisner trained actors, this class will offer an introduction to Meisner Technique, so you can decide if you’d like to take a 5-week beginning Meisner intensive class. Introduction to the Meisner Technique for Actors and Director Coaches will focus on the Repetition Exercise, listening and answering. Students will learn how The Meisner Technique helps actors to shed self-conscious behavior, begin to focus their attention outwardly on their partner, and dialogue that centers around impulsive behavior forcing actors to step outside their comfort zones. Directors will learn how to take simple Meisner exercises to help cast move out of artificial “acting” and move toward honest “reacting”. There is no prerequisite required for this course.
