Fidgety Fairy Tales - The Mental Health Musical seeks actors ages 10-18 for April/May 2020 touring performances

Fidgety Fairy Tales - The Mental Health Musical is looking for a diverse group of actors ages 10 - 18 for fourteen touring performances in April/May 2020.  Youth with or without a diagnosed mental health disorder are encouraged to audition. 

There are two audition dates. 
Sunday, January 26, 2020
Agest 10 - 13:  2 - 3:15 PM
Agest 14 - 18:  3:30 - 4:45 PM

Monday, January 27, 2020
Ages 10 - 13:  6 - 7:15 PM
Ages 14 - 18:  7:30 - 8:45 PM

No preparation is necessary, but we do ask that you register ahead of time for the auditions at www.macmh.org/auditions.  Please plan to be there for the full 75 minutes.  If you are interested but cannot make either date, please email Matt Jenson at [email protected]

Rehearsals will be:
February 23 - April 5, 2020
Mondays and Wednesday @ 6 - 9 PM
Sundays @ 2 - 6 PM  
Not everyone will be called for every rehearsal, and we do our best to accommodate actors' availability.

Auditions and Rehearsals will be held at:
Minnesota Association for Children's Mental Health
23 Empire Drive, Suite 1000
St. Paul, MN 55107
(We have our own entrance on the NORTH side of the building.  Please look for the entrance with a large sign of our name above it.)

Performances will be:
Approximately 12 - 14 performances. 

  • 10 performances at sites throughout the Twin Cities.
  • 2 performances in the Willmar area
  • 1 - 2 performances in Duluth 

We will also have understudies available in case there are schedule conflicts.

This is a PAID performance opportunity.  Actors receive $25 per performance.

Fidgety Fairy Tales – The Mental Health Musicals re-imagine familiar fairy tales to raise awareness about children’s mental health.  This 45-minute musical includes three stories about children's mental health:
Old Mother Hubbard (trauma)
Chicken Little (anxiety)
The Tortoise and the Hare (depression)

It is a production of the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health and is supported by a grants from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.  This is our 12th original production.  Fidgety Fairy Tales has been performed over 300 times throughout Minnesota.  Productions have also been staged in NE Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana, and Guam.  Created by Matt Jenson and Marya Hart.  For more information, please visit www.macmh.org/fidgety or like us on Facebook.
