Lost a button? Need to add a snap? Join us to learn hands-on how to attach buttons, snaps, and other fasteners. Discussion will include the different ways fasteners are used on personal clothing vs. costumes for the stage. All materials will be provided. Registration is limited.

 

Intro to Costume Construction: Hand Stitching Techniques
Saturday, January 26, 1:00 – 3:00 pm

Learn hand stitching techniques for mending and making personal garments and costumes. This hands-on class will give you a chance to learn and practice the basics of hand sewing in a relaxed, small-group setting. All materials will be provided. Registration is limited.

 

Intro to Costume Construction: The Sewing Machine
Saturday, February 16, 1:00 – 3:00 pm

Learn how to operate a sewing machine. Veteran costumer Carolann Winther will introduce you to the principal parts of the machine and teach you its use. Students will be assigned their own machines and will practice basic machine sewing techniques. Registration is limited.
