Please arrive with a calendar outlining all possible conflict dates between the first read-through and the final performance. (No conflicts for tech week or performance dates will be accepted.)

Lena Younger (Mama): Mature adult, mother of Walter and Beneatha; religious, moral and maternal; a down-to-earth, hard-working widow
Walter Lee Younger (Brother): Lena’s son, about thirty; restless, frustrated, and volatile; a dreamer and an entrepreneur
Ruth Younger: Walter’s wife, about thirty; tired, pregnant, resilient; a pragmatist
Travis Younger: Son to Walter and Ruth, about ten or eleven; innocent and sheltered
Beneatha Younger (Bennie): Lena’s daughter, about twenty; strong, feisty, intellectual college student and activist with dreams of being a doctor
Joseph Asagai: Nigerian, Beneatha’s suitor, about twenty; wise, intellectual, revolutionary; a college student
George Murchison: Beneatha’s date, about twenty; wealthy, privileged, spoiled; a college student
