Program Manager - Musicals

Program Manager - Musicals Oversees three fully staged middle-school musicals, an educational touring show with student actors, and other performance opportunities that arise during the year. This position plans the season and supervises all day-to-day elements, planning, and execution of the Project SUCCESS musical production season.

Essential Functions

  • Hire, manage, schedule, and collaborate with multiple team members and independent contractors to ensure programs are conducted effectively
  • Manage complex schedules and communicate changes to multiple stakeholders
  • Fully manage budgets and contracting for each theatrical production with approval from the Director of Programs
  • Coordinate with the school administrators, building staff and teachers at Project SUCCESS partner schools to ensure quality partnerships
  • Complete regular data-entry and reporting in Salesforce
  • Build and secure stage sets, and other materials for production
  • Provide transportation for students as needed

Middle School Theater Production Schedules

Sanford Middle School (October-December), Marcy Middle School (January-March) & Anwatin Middle School (April-June)

  • Rehearsal every Monday-Friday after school until 6PM
  • Tech week rehearsal after school until 7PM
  • 4-6 performances per school
  • Strike

Educational Touring Show

Attend auditions, rehearsals, and performances; coordinate travel needs

  • Highly organized and attention to detail a must; considerable planning is required
  • Experienced in theatrical production either as a Director, Choreographer, Production Manager, or Teaching Artist
  • Experience working with students in an arts-based capacity
  • Ability to manage and execute large-scale events with many different partners and moving parts
  • Love for producing student-led work
