Seeking Actors & Lighting Designer for "The Skriker" - Date Added!

Fortune's Fool Theatre is holding Auditions for The Skriker by Caryl Churchill, Directed by Ben Layne.

The Skriker blends English folk tales with the gritty realities of modern urban life. It follows the Skriker, a shape-shifting fairy and death portent from the underworld, in its search for love and revenge as it pursues two young women in London --- Josie, who has murdered her young child, and Lily, who is pregnant --- changing its shape at every new encounter.

Along with the Skriker come Rawheadandbloodybones, the Kelpie, the Green Lady, Black Dog and more, until their world is swarming with enticing and angry creatures that have burst from the Underworld.

With original, live music by Keith Hovis and dance/movement choreographed by Josiah Thompson, we’re looking for a company of actors to bring these characters to life. While described as silently appearing here or there within the original script, we have a bit more fun in mind, as the creatures will gain voice as choral speakers, echoes, and more (to be developed in the process).

For the creatures, we ask that you be comfortable moving in your body (crawling, ‘flocking’, etc) and following some basic choreography. Also welcome are folks with more dance experience and/or circus skills: contortion, acrobatics, juggling, etc. We are interested in ALL types, from the very tall to the very small, from young to old, from those with a lot of physical experience, to those who feel ready to try.
