About SteppingStone Theatre for Youth: We believe all young people are Makers. They’re Artists. Art making experiences with SteppingStone are rich, sometimes messy, collaborative processes from the first name game through the final sharing for family and friends. We believe students who have access to high-quality arts learning opportunities strengthen their ability to hone crucial life-skills in critical thinking, social/emotional development, physical awareness, and a sense of mastery. Our classes create space for youth to explore theatrical skill-sets while developing a strong sense of community and belonging. We welcome students of all skill and ability levels from Ages 3-18.

Every year, nearly 40,000 youth and their families have extraordinary theatre experiences through our five Main Stage Productions, 150 unique class opportunities, and 30+ Workshops & Residencies held throughout the east metro in conjunction with our Community Partners. SteppingStone has been a proud community member of the Twin Cities East Metro since 1987.

Position Summary: SteppingStone Theatre for Youth seeks a Community Relations Coordinator to expand reach and maintain communication with schools and other youth development, community groups and businesses through a proactive, relationship based model. This position is responsible for working with the Director of Marketing & Communications to meet financial goals for group sales and community support. This position contributes directly to the organization’s mission of supporting artistry, creative learning, arts access for all, and positive emotional and social development in young people.

Hours: 15-20 weekly

Pay: $14 – 18 hourly

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Previous sales, administrative and customer service experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or 2 years’ relevant experience
  • Motivated, pro-active and self-directed
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to coordinate events with multiple departments
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Knowledge of education, youth development, or educational theater preferred
  • Computer proficiency a must (MS Word, Excel, Gmail) – experience with computer database/CRM software a plus
