AUDITIONS for A Part of Me – A New Musical Drama by Imagined Theatre
Seeking Equity (MN Fringe Equity Contract) and Non-Equity actors ($600 stipend) with strong acting and singing ability.
Especially seeking MALE actors:
- Sean: 20s - 40s who can sing and play guitar
- Jimmy: actor can sing and play teen male 14-18
Performing in the Minnesota Fringe Festival at the Southern Theater on:
August 3 (7 PM), Aug. 4 (1 PM), Aug. 9 (10 PM), Aug. 10 (5:30 PM), & Aug. 12 (2:30 PM).
A Part of Me is a musical drama about the lives of hospital patients and those that care for them. Looking for actors who enjoy the challenge of creating new characters and developing new musical works.
Auditions will be held on Tuesday, May 22 and May 23, 5:15 – 8:30 p.m.

Audition Location: THE ART BOX, 4200 East 54th Street, Minneapolis. Free parking.
Actors will have four minutes and will be asked to perform 8-16 bars from two song selections AND 1-2 sides from the show ONLY. Pre-recorded song tracks, lead sheets and sides will be provided to rehearse prior to audition. Actors may read from sides/songs in-hand (no need to memorize), and the same recorded song tracks will be provided at audition to sing along with.

Seeking FIVE actors in the following roles:
Two Male Roles:
SEAN: Musician, 20’s – 40’s. A charmer, who is confident around women, but less comfortable around youth. A likeable, but world-weary musician who is struggling with illness. A strong singer (folk to rock). Must be able to play acoustic guitar on stage. NOTE: Actors auditioning for role of SEAN are invited to bring a guitar to the audition.
JIMMY: a typical teenager between 14 and 18 who is both moody and animated, but also has an awkward vulnerability. He is a teen struggling with illness. A strong singer (tenor range). Males who are older, but can play a teenager will be considered.
Three Female Roles:
CATE: Nurse, 20’s – 40’s. Professional and mature with a warm nature and wry sense of humor. She is the calm center, but also knows when to break the rules. Strong singer.
LIZ: Patient Coordinator, 20’s. A new employee who wants to prove her competence, but is impatient and easily provoked. Likes to gossip, is a bit self-centered, but likeable. Strong singer.
RITA: Mother of Jimmy, late 20’s – 40’s; must appear old enough to be a mother to a teenager. A single mother with limited income whose inability to help her son leaves her feeling angry, fearful, and frustrated. Sometimes has a difficult time connecting with Jimmy, but is very protective. Strong singer.

Rehearsal Info: Must have transportation for rehearsals in Brooklyn Park. Excellent black box rehearsal facility with free parking. Rehearsals begin the end of June and run through early August (generally Monday – Thursday evenings, 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.). No rehearsal on July 3 or 4.
