Lots of theater around town, Big Gay Comedy, and Creative Time Summit
News
Hello!
--------
Based on not very much research it looks like a show has opened or is about to open in every building with anything even resembling a stage right now in Minnesota. Here are at least some of the places you can go see live theater this week.
Brave New Workshop
Bryant Lake Bowl
Guthrie Theater
Pillsbury House
The Jungle Theater
Mixed Blood
Open Eye Figure Theatre
Torch Theater
Huge Theater
Intermedia Arts
Red Eye
Gremlin
Park Square
Theater in the Round
Lowry Lab
Chanhassen Dinner Theatres
History Theater
Open Book
Children's Theatre Company
Stages
Yellow Tree
Commonweal Theatre Co.
Sabes Community Center
The Ordway
The State Theater
Youth Performance Company
The New Century
The Music Box
Scream Town in Chaska
Old Log Theater
Zenon Dance
Cowles Center
O’Shaughnessy Auditorium
Burnsville Performing Arts Center
Woodbury Community Theater
Nimbus Theatre
With this many shows all happening at once there will certainly be fantastic theater, terrible theater, and everything in between. I think the takeaway is that we must have as tremendous a theater community as I tell people we do, to have enough artists and enough audience members to make this much theater happen all at the same time.
Did I miss some spaces on this list?

The Big Gay Comedy Show: I Do! – An Evening of Stand Up Comedy
A group of stand up comics, comedy musicians, and former Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Esera Tuaolo are coming together at the Parkway Theater in Minneapolis on Friday, October 12th, to create an evening of laughter and entertainment. The show is presented by Lavender Magazine and Minnesotans United for All Families as part of the fight against the constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage on Minnesota ballots this November.
Big Gay Comedy Show
With performers such as Jen Kober, Esera Tuaolo, Jason Schommer, Jenn Schaal, Tom Steffen, Jodie Maruska, Amber Preston, Courtney McClean & The Dirty Curls, and Valley Meadows the show will certainly be entertaining.
