John Munger

John Munger began his formal dance career in the late 1960’s. His mentor, with whom he studied and performed for seven years, was pioneering modern dance legend Hanya Holm. He also studied modern, ballet and jazz with Norman Cornick. Since 1984, Munger has freelanced as a teacher, performer and choreographer in Minnesota. His choreography has been recognized with McKnight and Minnesota State Arts Board Fellowships, and a SAGE Award. He recently stepped aside from his 21-year career as Director of Research at Dance/USA. He teaches modern technique at Zenon Dance School and creates work for Third Rabbit Dance.
