Alan Tilson is a member of the Board of Directors with the Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre, Kansas City where he has performed or worked behind the scenes in 47 productions. He began his career as an Acting Apprentice for two seasons with Missouri Repertory Theater. He has performed with the Kansas City Repertory Theater, Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, Theatre for Young America, The Living Room Theater, The Country of the Blind Coterie Theater tour of Kansas, and in the title role of Moliere’s The Miser at Union Station City Stage. Tilson has worked regionally with the Oregon and Colorado Shakespeare Festivals, four years with the Minnesota Shakespeare Company in Minneapolis, and with the Black Hills Playhouse. He has produced 50 Shakespeare Monologues with the Kansas City Fringe and the Minneapolis Fringe Festivals. He conceived, produced and performed the one man show Poor Lear and performed it at the MET and the KC and Minnesota Fringe. Poor Lear was selected for an Artist-in-Residence with Escape2Create in Seaside, Florida and has been performed in Louisville and New York.
