Julie Kurtz

Since moving to Minneapolis last year, Julie has worked as a performer, director, and teacher in the Twin Cities. She began her midwest career (ironically) on the west coast with Jeune Lune (Susanna in Figaro) at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Further local credits include The Playwrights’ Center, Nautilus Music-Theater, Workhaus Collective, Red Eye, Strange Capers. She has Asst Directed with Ten Thousand Things and History Theatre. Julie worked extensively as actor, teacher and director in San Francisco. As a teacher Julie specializes in Interactive Theatre (based on the political theatre of Augusto Boal), currently teaching for Breaking Free, a St. Paul organization that serves women who’ve been victim to sexual exploitation (trafficking/prostitution). Administratively, Julie served as Development Associate for Theatre Bay Area. She is director/co-founder of Aldrich Arts Collaborative, an org that offers art classes and galleries (displaying the art of students & working artists).
