Recognized for her versatility as a performer, MOLLY SUE MCDONALD has performed extensively as an actor, singer and musician in the areas of theater, music-theater, opera, live radio and the concert stage. Her performances have taken her throughout the United States, as well as to Canada, France and Belgium. She is familiar to Twin Cities audiences through her work at the Guthrie, Chanhassen, Cricket, Nautilus, 10,000 Things, Frank, Park Square, Mixed Blood, Old Log, Illusion, History, and Fitzgerald Theaters, currently appearing in Sister Act at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater. Other regional credits include Arizona Theater Co and Chicago’s Goodman and Lincolnshire Theaters; her opera credits include performances with VocalEssence, Ex Machina Baroque Opera and Dorian Opera Theater, and she was recently honored to sing for Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Dominick Argento on a program of his own works. She has enjoyed a thriving career on the concert stage, singing with acclaimed baritone Jubilant Sykes, and has appeared with the Symphony Orchestras of Minnesota, Columbus, Kansas City, Duluth, South Bend, Des Moines, and Cedar Rapids. She is 1/4 of the hit group Sopranorama!, and has worked with such luminaries as Bobby McFerrin, Douglas Campbell and Maureen McGovern. She has enjoyed appearing as a host on MPR's Morning Show and has guested several times on A Prairie Home Companion, reciting sonnets and poetry opposite Garrison Keillor. Her lullaby collection, Child of Mine, won the ALA Notable Children's Recording Award. She is an accomplished instrumentalist (violin/guitar), playing onstage and off, and has been featured from time to time on her rollerblades!
