Originally from the tiny town of Honey Creek, Iowa, Rachel is a second year MFA Acting candidate at the University of South Carolina.
Highlights from her time as an MFA graduate student include performing Shakespeare, Brecht, originating a role with playwright Dipika Guha with p3/East, performing in an original slow tempo piece in the style of Shogo Ohta, getting fight certified and writing, directing and performing her solo show Persons in which she shares the stage with a dolphin.
In South Carolina, Rachel has also performed with Trustus Theatre and The Living Room, an independent theatre project where she also directed her original one-actPlaying House. Her assistant directing credits at Trustus include See Rock City (with Dewey Scott-Wiley,) Venus in Fur and Good People (with Jim O'Connor.) Before moving to South Carolina, Rachel completed a year long acting apprenticeship with the Commonweal Theatre in Minnesota. She has also worked with CLIMB Theatre, Prairie Fire Theatre, St. Croix Falls Festival Theater and the MN Fringe Festival.
