The Loneliest Person in the Universe follows the historical figure Richard Carrington, the first astronomer to discover the connection between sunspots, the Northern Lights, and electromagnetic storms. In a world that is full of loneliness, how can it be tamed and how can we feel less alone in such a vast universe? What do the northern lights tell us, and why are they connected to the sun? Even in the loneliest of moments where can we find a connection with something bigger than ourselves?

Note: The content of this show is intended for older elementary kids through adults, but children ages 6+ will enjoy this performance as well. The play deals with the emotion of loneliness and how we can handle it in the face of the universe, so having some experience with this feeling will help you appreciate the show more fully. The puppets are all marionettes, or figures manipulated by strings, and after the show audience members are invited to see the puppets up close with a demonstration of how they work.
