The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare. Performed by the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater BFA Acting Second Year Company. One of Shakespeare’s first folio comedies focused on love, justice and mercy. The Merchant of Venice has inspired more than 15 movies and three operas, and has survived for nearly half a millennium. This production will be directed and led by our resident Shakespeare teacher/director, Steve Cardamone.
