The President and The Space Lady

A Seriously Silly Christmas Play by playwright Phil Hall is an ensemble comedy that brings the snappy wit of a TV sitcom to a four-dimensional stage setting.

The play takes place in two acts on Christmas Eve in the Oval Office of the White House. Real life issues – transition of power, presidential protocol, national security, peace on earth – are mixed with absurdity, slap stick humor, and huge doses of innuendo and double entendre with tons of laughs … and double chalupas.

“Twas the night before Christmas and all was quiet” – well almost quiet – until an extraterrestrial lands in the Rose Garden. Let the fun begin!

“When he lost his celibacy, he lost his mind.

Triple Espresso tells the story of three guys whose bid for showbiz fame and fortune ended in 4-minutes of magnificent failure on national television. Hugh Butternut, Buzz Maxwell, and Bobby Bean tell their rags-to-rags story earnestly, with hysterical results. Butternut is a musician, a vulnerable soul with a lounge lizard smile; Maxwell is an uncertain magician with an attitude; and Bean is an irrepressible, all-over-the-map entertainer with big dreams. The laughter is infectious and the comedy appeals to everyone from first graders to college students to baby-boomers to grandparents.

BIG OLD ROCK

Created and Performed by Jay Owen Eisenberg
Directed by Katherine Pardue
Sound Design by Dan Dukich
Lighting Design by Katie Deutsch
Stage Managed byBrian Hirt

The rock cycle, as we know it, takes a long time. A really, really long time. None of us will live to see a single, complete rock cycle, unless we’re planning on sticking around for hundreds of thousands of years. But somewhere in Minnesota, an intrepid geologist has been subjecting himself to hours of isolation, rigorous calisthenics, and countless cups of coffee with one idea in mind: it is possible to speed up the rock cycle.

And he’s going to be the one to do it.

His research methods might be unconventional, but he’s so close to his breakthrough that he can almost taste it. Sometimes literally.

BIG OLD ROCK is inspired by greater Minnesota’s rich geological history, transgender identity, and a little bit of actual science.

The Comedy Roast of Mr. Scrooge combines the oldest traditions from comedy—savagely mocking someone—and the holidays—imbibing in one too many ‘nogs and telling everyone what you really think. All the classic, beloved characters from A Christmas Carol finally get their chance to give Scrooge what’s coming to him in words that Charles Dickens never even knew.

Starring some of the Twin Cities’ funniest actors, this irreverent and raucous show is the perfect anecdote for those who prefer a little more spice and a little less nice to their holidays. This ain’t your average Christmas Carol!

“I had the best of times! Tis a far, far funnier thing than I did!” — Charles Dickens

“Exceeded even my expectations!” — Pip

“It was so funny, I peed my knickers!” — Mrs. Dickens

*This is a very adult production with strong language and not for those offended by modern roast humor. *Must be 18+
