Erin Olson is a fourth generation medium, a person who talks to spirits. Unfortunately, her recent death has hindered her ability to work. Now she needs an assistant, a conduit to the living world. You're invited to interview for this position. Come along and try your hand at contacting the spirit realm, but know that whether or not the spirits can be put to rest is up to you. This audio-driven, site-specific adventure for a single audience member takes you around the West Bank neighborhood, and is powered by an interactive app.

Second Skin makes you the protagonist in an interactive horror adventure. Wear comfy shoes, bring your cell phone, and dress for the weather, because your journey will take you away from the safety of the Southern Theater. Ticket holders will also have access to extra pre-show materials set in the world of the play, which can offer a different perspective on the story.

You must book your ticket in advance for this experience. No tickets will be available at the door. Answers to FAQs can be found here.

Accessibility: the route of Second Skin involves ascending a flight of steps. If you need step-free or wheelchair accessible access, we have an alternate route available for performances before 4pm on Saturday, or e-mail [email protected] to make other arrangements. Other accessibility requests can be addressed to the same email.

Second Skin is intended to be experienced solo. If you have concerns about exploring the West Bank on your own, we invite you to purchase a Buddy System pass. This will admit you and a friend to the show. Note that one person will be driving the experience, and the other will be listening in, kind of like a ghost following you around. If you want to experience the show alone, select a "Solo" $20 ticket. E-mail [email protected] with questions.

Performances take place frequently throughout the Festival. A full schedule is available here.

From the basement to the barn, your beloved Church Basement Ladies are back and getting busy with life outside the kitchen. After the last of the hotdish is served, the coffee pot is emptied, and the Jello molds are put away, these steadfast, sturdy women head to their farms, peel off their good girdles, and get on with their daily chores. In between picking eggs, milking cows, and dusting knickknacks, they congregate with some of the other lovable folks who inhabit this rural community: Earl, who delivers the mail up and down Rural Route One; Fergus, the hired man; and Tillie, who chronicles the action for the Fish County Weekly.

With plenty of crazy antics, loads of fresh laughs, and spanking new original songs, YOU SMELL BARN celebrates rural life in the 1950’s. And, at the center of it all, are your favorite Church Basement Ladies. Whether you’ve seen several versions, or are new to the world of the basement, the 7th in the Church Basement Ladies series is a musical treat for all.

In this rip-roaring classic, the audience is treated to a hilarious behind-the-scenes peek at an acting troupe rehearsing and performing the farce Nothing On. Despite nerves, dropped lines and technical difficulties, they make it through rehearsal and open the show. As time goes by, things deteriorate until pandemonium ensues and axe-wielding co-stars, drunken cast members and misplaced sardines take center stage during a disaster of a performance that threatens to jinx the old saying, “The show must go on.”

Ghost Quartet

Presented by Theatre Elision
  • Musical

“Ghost Quartet” is a song cycle about love, death and whiskey from Dave Malloy, the Tony-nominated creator of the Broadway hit “Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812.”  A camera breaks and four friends drink in an interwoven tale spanning seven centuries, with a murderous sister, a treehouse astronomer, a bear, a subway, and the ghost of Thelonious Monk.  The story draws from several fairy tales and "ghost stories", including Snow White and Rose Red, Edgar Allen Poe's Fall of the House of Usher, and One Thousand and One Nights (commonly known as Arabian Nights). There may also be some Princess Zelda references you might recognize. Cast members present the story and music as a "concept album" and accompany themselves on keyboard, violin, ukulele, guitar, mandolin, and percussion.  The audience may also be called upon for additional percussion and whiskey drinking.
