"Who wants reality? I can get that for free. That's the whole point. I kind of have to."

ABOUT THE SHOW

What happens when human folly runs face-first into apocalypse? Stolen placentas, political genies, sad puppies, Elder Gods, cryogenically frozen comedians...welcome to this election year's grotesque anthology of comic horror, with no mention whatsoever of a certain ancient Greek philosopher.

WARNING: contains profanity, gunshots, graphic descriptions of violent and sexual acts, and a wildly inappropriate spirit of levity.

phillip andrew bennett low is a Chinese-American playwright and poet, storyteller and mime, theatre critic and libertarian activist. His solo performances have won acclaim from Minneapolis to Atlanta, New York to LA -- even as far as Melbourne, Australia. He was the co-founder of the Rockstar Storytellers (a supergroup of bestselling Twin Cities spoken-word artists), founder and producer of the touring theatre troupe Maximum Verbosity, and founder and host of the country's only openmic dedicated to speculative fiction, The Not-So-Silent Planet, and its associated podcast. He has published two humor collections, Indecision Now! and Get Thee Behind Me, Santa.

PRAISE FOR PHILLIP LOW AND MAXIMUM VERBOSITY

"Writer phillip low is a talented man with a gift for caustic monologues. But he also has a crazed sense of humor..."
-Kansas City Stage

"Liberation through extreme tastelessness may be Low's most powerful self-help prescription. His precursor in this mode is Paul Krassner..."
-Jay Harvey, Upstage (Indianapolis)

"...puts to shame the notion: 'Brevity is the soul of wit.' ...with his offbeat sense of humor, he offers up a desperate cry for common sense for the country, if not the world."
-Tristan Miller, comedian

"...an accomplished writer and performer with a wonderfully wicked sense of humor...also viciously intelligent and terrifyingly well-read...ranges from sophomoric laughs to incisive political and cultural observations."
-E.J. Bouinatchova, author of Fresh Cut

The best show you’ll write all year, this completely immersive multiscreen performance features a script written anonymously by YOU!

Brian Feldman brings the online version of one of his signature projects to the first-ever Minnesota Fringe Virtual Festival, as one of 74 shows available to audiences as part of this year’s online-only festival.

The best show you’ll write all year, #txtshow (on the internet) is a completely immersive multiscreen performance featuring a mysterious character named txt (pronounced “text”) who recites a script written anonymously in real-time by a live audience (on the internet).

Created and performed by Brian Feldman, this live, interactive performance takes place on Zoom. (This is Brian’s first-ever performance in Minneapolis, The North Star State, the Midwest, and Central Time.)

Based entirely upon what audience members write in anonymity, this event may contain mature themes, profane language, and explicit sexual content.

About Brian Feldman Projects:

Brian Feldman is an award-winning performance artist and actor. He lives in Washington, Douglass Commonwealth where, as DCist noted, “In a city that has an advocacy group exploring how to “make D.C. weird” – and is still struggling – Brian Feldman is a shining beacon of eccentricity.” Brian’s work has been favorably compared to Marina Abramovic, David Blaine, John Cage, Christo, Marcel Duchamp, Tehching Hsieh, and Andy Kaufman, and garnered worldwide media coverage on television, radio, in print, and online. Since 2003, he has presented 300+ performances of 125+ projects at 175+ venues and festivals through Brian Feldman Projects, one of North America’s premiere presenters of experimental, time-based art.
