Look at you, awake in your bed, wondering if the house you like actually likes you back.

Tossing and turning because you can't meet your house's needs.

Thrashing and gnashing because, let's face it, your house never comes first.

What an embarrassment! We know you just want to be alone in the home. Lucky for you, the uniquely qualified realtors at Beam & Bungalow are here to help. Join Shel Beam and Phil Bungalow for a minimally invasive open house where you'll learn our special techniques for understanding the traumas and dramas of buying, selling, and pleasuring the home. By the time you leave, you'll see houses in a whole new way, a way that makes you shout: "There's not a thing wrong with it!"

At just under an hour, this is a one tight tour that will leave you feeling real loose.

All American Boys

April 29 - May 22, 2022 • Ages 10+

By Jody Drezner Alperin and Vicky Finney Crouch | Based on the book by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely | Directed by Theo Langason and Cody R. Braudt

The journey of two teen boys and a life-altering incident

Twin Cities Premiere!

“At once timely and timeless, funny and wickedly smart... about what it means to be a young man in America— across lines of race—and what it means to be a GOOD person in America—across lines of Everything.” – Jacqueline Woodson

The lives of two high-school boys, one black and one white, powerfully intersect after a violent act of racially motivated police brutality. Unfolding through the boys’ alternating perspectives, the story follows their journey as they grapple with the devastating impact of racism as it reverberates through their families, school and town. Stages Theatre Company and Capri Theater are proud to bring this important play, based on the award-winning book by Brendan Kiely and National Book Award winner and Ambassador of Children’s Literature, Jason Reynolds, to Twin Cities audiences.

Directed and Choreographed by Kelli Foster Warder

Featuring Reese Britts and Andre Shoals

Born to a Creole family in turn-of-the-century New Orleans, Jelly Roll Morton was a classically trained pianist who was fascinated by the ragtime, blues and jazz sounds happening around him. From the back alleys of New Orleans to the dance halls of Chicago and the clubs of New York, the Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning JELLY'S LAST JAM tells the troubled story of the self-proclaimed inventor of jazz with spectacular dance breaks and a smokin’ jazz score.

Theater Latté Da is grateful for the generosity of our Production Sponsors, David Feroe and Linda Svitak.

"Who wants reality? I can get that for free. That's the whole point. I kind of have to."

There is an imperfection in the human mind - a crack, a flaw, a crevice - one that fascinates and repulses all those who find it. It is empty of all but impulse and appetite and the memory of hope. What if you looked over the edge? What if you fell? And after the fall, what would you see in the mirror?

Six performances. Five artists. Four brand-new short plays. Adapted by an all-star creative team from the original horror collection, it's time to get metaphysical in this twisted cabaret of the macabre. Created by Derek Dirlam, Jenna Papke, Tim Wick, and Jena Young, and with songs by My Very Friend!

Maximum Verbosity will also be producing a late-night cabaret April 29-30 called WASTED: The Comedy Horror Show, featuring storytelling, music, and physical comedy!

WARNING: contains tales of horror and dark fantasy, and consequently some disturbing and violent imagery, including both gunshots and references to sexual assault.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Phoenix Theater requires proof of vaccination and masking for entry to all shows.

"...delving into psychological horror and darker themes, though frequently with a healthy amount of comedy and acerbic wit...a lot of really ambitious material...some really heavy material, a good dose of fatalism and comedy...this is a dark book, both psychologically and often violently, and it's certainly not going to play to everyone's tastes. A lot of weird and fucked up shit, so consider yourself warned...the good far outweighs the bad here."

What will endure when the cataclysm arrives – when the grid fails, society crumbles, and we’re faced with the task of rebuilding? Can art remake a civilization? Mr. Burns propels us forward and imagines a future where Bart Simpson and the pop culture references of one era evolve into the mythology of another.

Tucker Lucas (The MajoritySantaland Diaries), production director said, “Mr. Burns is a show about a community living in a post-apocalyptic world where there is no more electricity and so to entertain each other the community members stage old episodes of The Simpsons as plays.”

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. But he’s not prepared for the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, who is determined to exercise control over the town’s youth. When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges pins a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.

To the rockin’ rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated Top Forty score, augmented with dynamic new songs, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people while guiding them with a warm heart and open mind.

Footloose first burst onto the silver screen in 1984 and proved to be one of the year’s most successful motion pictures. The soundtrack recording reached #1 on the Billboard charts, and went on to sell over 17 million copies worldwide, generating such Top Forty hits as its title song and “Let’s Hear It For The Boy” (both of which received Academy Award nominations), plus “Almost Paradise,” “Holding Out For A Hero,” and “I’m Free (Heaven Helps the Man).” With a screenplay and lyrics by Oscar winner Dean Pitchford, the story focused on young people, much like his previous, and wildly successful movie musical Fame.

SCREAM it off SCREEN is a short film competition where audience members decide what gets GONGED (yes, with a real gong) and who wins the cash prize. Majority rules and votes are cast by screaming out loud in a place where you’ve always been told to “shut up”. It happens the 1st Friday of every month at The Parkway Theater (and LIVE on YouTube 2nd Fridays). None of the short films are preselected or prescreened, which is an anomaly in the world of film festivals. No one knows what will play next, not even the organizers. Additionally, the audience is subjected to music and salacious theatrics put on by the host, his “interns”, and a mascot named SCREAMY. A live piano accompanist is also present at every show.

Film submissions are free and open to all. The deadline is May 2nd.
