When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. But he’s not prepared for the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, who is determined to exercise control over the town’s youth. When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges pins a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.

To the rockin’ rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated Top Forty score, augmented with dynamic new songs, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people while guiding them with a warm heart and open mind.

Footloose first burst onto the silver screen in 1984 and proved to be one of the year’s most successful motion pictures. The soundtrack recording reached #1 on the Billboard charts, and went on to sell over 17 million copies worldwide, generating such Top Forty hits as its title song and “Let’s Hear It For The Boy” (both of which received Academy Award nominations), plus “Almost Paradise,” “Holding Out For A Hero,” and “I’m Free (Heaven Helps the Man).” With a screenplay and lyrics by Oscar winner Dean Pitchford, the story focused on young people, much like his previous, and wildly successful movie musical Fame.

It’s Hollywood’s biggest night, and you’re invited!

The year’s best movies, the world’s hottest celebrities, and everyone is clamoring to get their hands on tinsel-town’s most coveted award: The ORSON.

There will be dinner and dancing. You might even find yourself nominated for an award. But beware, this is the prize that all the beautiful people are DYING to get their hands on, and if looks can kill…no one is safe!

The Mystery Cafe dishes out a hilarious comedy caper, in which you and your table are invited to solve the crime...all while enjoying a delicious 3-course meal.

Upon arrival, you’ll be seated by members of the cast. The show consists of four acts, in between which you’ll be given a course...and a clue. You’ll also be provided with “Mystery Money,” so you can bribe characters for more information.

The clues point to one answer, and a prize is awarded to our “Super Sleuth” winner. We also give prizes for the most...shall we say...“creative” answer. Right or wrong, you’ll be laughing all the way to the solution. You may not crack the case, but you’ll certainly bust a gut!

1986. The story of the indomitable Dorothy Molter, the last legal non-indigenous resident of the Boundary Waters. The story reflects the beauty and hardships of Molter’s solitary yet satisfying life beginning in 1934. The play, funny and passionate, explores her independence, fortitude, and love of nature. and pushes back against the premise that her time in the North Woods made her the “Loneliest Woman in America,” as the Saturday Evening Post claimed in 1952.  Dorothy Molter’s story will delight all, young and old.
