March 22nd through 26th, 2023 - HUGE Improv Theater will host the 7th Annual Black & Funny Improv Festival, produced by John Gebretatose and Jada Pulley. What started out as a small, one day workshop and panel has evolved into a weekend full of shows, classes, and celebrations featuring performers of color from across the country - open to audiences of every color.

Shows will begin Wednesday, March 22nd and take over all programming through the weekend with workshops during the day and shows at night, until the festival wraps up Sunday March 26th at 10 PM. Each night will be a mixture of local and visiting groups such as Blackout Improv, Based On A True Story, Wakanda Vs. Everybody, Cake Walk, and more shows from troupes across America.

The goal of Black And Funny Improv Festival is to showcase improv as an art form that Black people can excel at and benefit from. This is part of a larger desire to see the improv scene as a place where everyone is welcomed and respected and where we can celebrate our differences while building each other up and having fun.
