Lakeshore Players Theatre is thrilled to announce auditions for non-union actors for:

“A Christmas Story”

At Lakeshore Players Theatre, we are committed to create an artistically fulfilling, safe experience for actors. In accordance with the Minnesota Department of Health, we are excited to welcome back audiences & actors alike to our indoor space.


At Lakeshore Players Theatre, we recognize the systemic change that needs to be made in the theater industry to promote diversity and equity and to celebrate inclusion. 

We strongly encourage actors of all races, abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and backgrounds to audition for this production.  We are actively investing in creating an environment that is safe, accessible and welcoming for all.


Rehearsals will take place on evenings and weekends from Oct. 3rd- Nov. 17th at Lakeshore Players Theatre.

You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have proof of vaccination in order to participate. A booster is encouraged but not required to participate.

You must be available for all performances to be considered.

at the Hanifl Performing Arts Center

Callbacks will be held on Saturday, August 13th between 12-3pm.

You may bring in a 1-2 minute monologue of your choice, or choose from the attached sides. Sides will be printed at the auditions for your convenience.


RALPH (as adult), a storyteller. Also plays COWBOY, TREE LOT OWNER, DELIVERY MAN & VOICE OF A NEIGHBOR.

RALPHIE PARKER- Ralph at 9 years old. 

MOTHER- his mother.

THE OLD MAN- his father. Also plays SANTA CLAUS, a jolly old elf; heard, never seen.

RANDY- his little brother, age 7-8.

MISS SHIELDS- his teacher.

FLICK- his friend and classmate, age 9-10. Also plays DESPERADO ONE.

SCHWARTZ- his friend and classmate, age 9-10. Also plays DESPERADO TWO.

ESTHER JANE ALBERRY- a classmate, age 9-10.

HELEN WEATHERS- a classmate, age 9-10. 

SCUT FARKAS- a bully, age 10-11. Also plays BLACK BART.


A modest travel stipend will be provided. 


We ask that all actors be masked for the majority of rehearsals, removing masks only during tech week and for performances onstage. All creative team members will be masked for rehearsals.

Masks are encouraged but not required for audience members at this time.

These protocols are subject to change with CDC recommendations & COVID rates & transmission.
