A Shakespeare Playground is offered as a fun and engaging way for performers who want to break through that 'Shakespeare aura.'   To unravel some of the mystery around free-verse and poetic imagery, the workshop will have three themes.

  • We'll use improvisation and movement to unravel the rich but often confusing poetic imagery;
  • Practical, take-away lessons and practice in several of the verse structures commonly found in the plays;
  • Applying those techniques to monologue and scene work.
  • Adults of any age who are interested in exploring Shakespeare’s rich imagery and language play are encouraged to jump in with a playful heart!
  • Participants are welcome to bring material for coaching and feedback. Dress for movement.
