ABOUT THE SHOW:

Much Ado About Nothing is a story of old and new love. When a group of soldiers returns home from the field, the old "merry war" of wits between iconic duo Beatrice and Benedick is contrasted with the new and troubled love of Hero and Claudio. As each couple navigates their new and changing identities, the play asks us to beware of superficial feeling, interrogate our expectations of love and marriage, and ultimately gives us a tale chock-full of verbal banter, comedic hijinks, and some of the most endearing and beloved Shakespeare characters ever written.

TUITION:

The Summer Ensemble is a tuition-based program. SYT is committed to offering opportunities to all students with an interest in Shakespeare. Financial aid is available to all students on a first-come-first-served basis. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with questions about financial aid, payment plans, or scholarships! Tuition for the Summer Ensemble is $750.

THE DREAM PROJECT

Much Ado About Nothing: An Audio Drama will be released through the Dream Project, an online platform devoted to annotated, interactive editions of the plays and to promoting the voices of SYT's young artists. Through the Dream Project, audiences will have the Ensemble's particular Romeo and Juliet adaptation available for viewing and educational purposes alongside the recorded audio production, as well as supplementary interviews with the cast, textual analysis from Ensemble actors, and ensemble-generated artwork and interviews, thus making youth-artistry available to a global audience. The Dream Project can be found at dream.sytmn.org and currently features recent audio drama productions A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Hamlet. Keep your eyes open for Troilus and Cressida, the next Dream Project premiere, coming April 2nd!
