Classical Actors Ensemble is accepting actor and stage manager submissions for our spring 2023 educational tour of Romeo & Juliet

touring to secondary schools for intermittent daytime performances, February 23 ~ May 5, 2023 (no more than two performances per week)
rehearsals (evenings/weekends) begin January 2, 2023
We are seeking adult, non-union performers of all ages. We particularly encourage submissions from actors who:
- are Black, Indigenous, or People of Color
- play musical instruments well
- have experience working with students as a teaching artist
- have experience with classical text or heightened language, or are especially seeking to gain experience with classical text or heightened language
Teens 16+ are welcome as interns.
Actors and the stage manager are paid per performance, $45 – 90 for actors varying by role, and $100 for the stage manager. We anticipate 8 – 12 total performances.
Actors participating in set-up/tear-down crew receive an additional stipend of ~$30 per performance.
The roles of Friar Lawrence, Lady Capulet, and Juliet are cast, but we are seeking understudies.
