Winter 2022 production - The Marvelous Wonderettes

Role: Music Director and Piano Accompanist

  • Time commitment: December 2021 - February 2022
  • Key dates include: Auditions: Dec 13-14, 2021 and Performances: February 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 2022
  • Role Description: We are seeking an experienced music director for The Marvelous Wonderettes, a fantastic jukebox musical featuring the music of the 1950s and 1960s. The show is built around a cast of 4 women and a small pit band. The ideal candidate will have experience leading music rehearsals and conducting performances for both actors and instrumentalists. This role will report to our Artistic Director Dann Peterson and includes serving as piano accompanist for both rehearsals and performances and collaborating with the Artistic Director in realizing the artistic vision for the show. Support in identifying volunteer band musicians may be required. Experience providing technical and artistic vocal coaching is preferred.  
  • Stipend: This role is a paid position which will be negotiated with our final candidate based upon experience and agreed time commitments.

 

Summer 2022 - Legally Blonde the musical

Role 1: Lighting Designer and Operator

  • Time commitment: May-June 2022
  • Role Description: We are seeking an experienced lighting designer for Legally Blonde which will be performed at Maple Grove's large outdoor performance venue at the Town Green. CCP and venue inventory will be used to light this show with limited rented equipment as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience creating designs for outdoor productions where performances start with significant natural light and end after sunset. This position will report to our Artistic Director Jeff Anderson and is responsible for collaborating on a lighting design that supports the artistic vision of the show, working within a budget to procure rented lighting equipment (as needed), setting of lights at load in, programming and running of lighting board for technical rehearsals and performances (or oversee volunteers to fill the role), facilitate nightly post show strike of certain lighting equipment and returning of rented equipment after strike.
  • Stipend: This role is a paid position which will be negotiated with our final candidate based upon experience and agreed time commitments.

     

Role 2: Sound Designer

  • Time commitment: May-June 2022
  • Role Description: We are seeking an experienced sound designer for Legally Blonde which will be performed at Maple Grove's large outdoor performance venue at the Town Green. We will amplify this show using CCP and venue inventory with limited rentals as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience creating designs for outdoor productions. This position will report to our Artistic Director Jeff Anderson and is responsible for collaborating on a sound design that supports the artistic vision of the show, working within a budget to procure rented sound equipment (as needed), facilitate set up of sound equipment at load in, programming sound board and coaching experienced city staff during tech rehearsal to run the board and facilitate return of rented equipment after strike. 
  • Stipend: This role is a paid position which will be negotiated with our final candidate based upon experience and agreed time commitments.
