Auditions for Summer Youth Programming (Grades 3-12) at BWTC !!!

Blue Water Theatre Company of Wayzata is excited to announce auditions and registration for several productions that are set to take place during the upcoming (2019) summer months! The following shows are looking for actors of various ages, from current 3rd graders through current 12th graders (2018-2019 school year).

URINETOWN (Grades 6-12) In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he’s had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom! AUDITIONS: May 6 & 9; REHEARSALS: Daily (Monday through Friday) from 9:00-4:00 beginning on Monday, June 10 and running through Thursday, July 11; PERFORMANCES: July 12-July 21; Click HERE for more information.

DOG SEES GOD (Grades 9-12) When CB’s dog dies from rabies, CB begins to question the existence of an afterlife. His best friend is too burnt out to provide any coherent speculation; his sister has gone goth; his ex-girlfriend has recently been institutionalized; and his other friends are too inebriated to give him any sort of solace. But a chance meeting with an artistic kid, the target of this group’s bullying, offers CB a peace of mind and sets in motion a friendship that will push teen angst to the very limits. Drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion and sexual identity collide and careen toward an ending that’s both haunting and hopeful. AUDITIONS: May 20 & 21; REHEARSALS: Evenings and weekends beginning July 1 and running through July 31; PERFORMANCES: August 1-4; Click HERE for more information.

MAGIC TREE HOUSE: PIRATES PAST NOON KIDS (Grades 3-5) Brother and sister Jack & Annie return to visit the magic tree house on a dreary, rainy day. They find a book where the sun is shining and the waves are crashing, so they wish to travel to this tropical place. They realize that they are in the eighteenth-century Caribbean, the time of pirates! The siblings meet Captain Bones, a mean old pirate who captures the two and forces them to help him find buried treasure. It’s up to Jack and Annie to find their way back to the tree house and make their way home. REGISTRATION: Now open online! REHEARSALS: Daily (Monday through Friday) from 9:00-1:00 the weeks of July 15-19 and July 22-26; PERFORMANCES: July 26-28; Click HERE for more information.

ME AND MY GIRL (Grades 6-12) The late Viscount Hareford had a youthful, unfortunate marriage – and kept discreetly out of sight was a son and heir. The Hareford Hall set are despondent when the family solicitor finds the legitimate heir in the less than desirable Lambeth area of London. When Bill is brought to Hampshire, he is forced to decide if he should fit in with high society and lose his Cockney roots and his girlfriend. AUDITIONS: June 17 & 18; REHEARSALS: Daily (Monday through Friday) from 9:00-4:00 beginning on Monday, July 15 and running through Thursday, August 15; PERFORMANCES: August 16-25; Click HERE for more information.
