Auditions for The Rape of Lucretia at JNOC

Journey North Opera Company (JNOC) presents Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia - a dark and timely examination of love, lust, power, and loyalty. Will contain scenes of violence, misogyny, and sexual assault.

UPDATE: In-person audition slots are now FULL. To be considered for this opportunity, please email your name, voice type, resume, and an MP3 video or YouTube link performing an aria in English to [email protected]. You may also include a second aria in any language of your choosing. We will then email you an audition form to be filled out and emailed back.

Performers needed:

Male Chorus – Tenor
Female Chorus - Soprano
Collatinus – Bass
Junius – Baritone
Prince Tarquinius – Baritone
Lucretia – Mezzo-Soprano or Contralto
Bianca – Mezzo-Soprano
Lucia – Soprano

Performances are September 6, 7, and 8, 2019 at Minnsky Theatre in NE Minneapolis.
Performances will be fully staged with a 13-piece orchestra.
A small stipend will be provided.

JNOC is also auditioning for participants in our new Opera Cabaret series, which will be a bi-monthly series for singers to perform arias and small ensembles in a relaxed and fun atmosphere alongside the amazing dancers of Minnsky Theatre!
