Auditions - Kodachrome, Virtual, with Locally Grown Theatre

Locally Grown Theatre is excited to announce auditions for their virtual production of Kodachrome by Adam Szymkowicz.  Directed by Natalie Novacek.

ABOUT THE PLAY

Welcome to Colchester, a small town where everybody knows each other and the pace of life allows the pursuit of love to take up as much space as it needs. Our tour guide is Suzanne, the town photographer, who lets us peek into her neighbors' lives to catch glimpses of romance in all its stages of development. Kodachrome is a play about love, nostalgia, the seasons, and how we learn to say goodbye.

CHARACTERS

Suzanne, The Photographer. 30s to 40s, Any race/ethnicity, Female or femme-identifying or comfortable in traditionally feminine roles. An openness and welcoming kind of spirit. The ability to carry the show. Facility with language, like a lot of language. A crazy charisma, but also, just like us.

Charlie, The Hardware Store Owner. 30s to 40s, Any race/ethnicity, Male or masc-identifying or comfortable in traditionally masculine roles. The Hardware Store Owner is kind of a normal person currently living an uneventful life and this love possibility is a whole big scary exciting thing. So it's about the daily normal things and the spark of love that can change everything. The Hardware Store owner used to be super handsome when he was like 18 but 20 years have passed and now he is his job. He is kind. He is good. He was never a mean person.
