Six Elements Theatre is proud to produce the 6th annual Brawl of America stage combat workshop - a two day intensive offering a variety of classes for attendees of all skill levels, featuring some of the best stage combat/stunt trainers in the world. The 2019 Brawl will be Saturday/Sunday, May 25/26 (memorial day weekend) at the facilities of Hamline University.
Have Avengers: Endgame and the Battle of Winterfell got you itching to swing some swords and throw some punches? Maybe the gritty knife fights of the John Wick series are more your style? Or better yet, do you want to feel confident the next time the script simply calls for you to be choked, slap someone, or get into a duel? Brawl has you covered. As a sanctioned workshop through the Society of American Fight Directors, we offer courses that cover a wide variety of topics within the field of stage combat. Whether you've never so much as ever had to fall onstage or you've been choreographing fights for a decade, there is plenty to learn at the Brawl.
We're also proud to host a representative from Intimacy Directors International to run a day of classes on responsibly staging moments of intimacy for stage and screen. Info on that workshop can be found here: http://brawlofamerica.weebly.com/intimacy-workshop.html
Saturday/Sunday, May 25/26 The workshop day usually runs from check-in around 8am to classes wrapping up around 6pm, with a break for lunch.
