Brick by Brick Players is seeking an actor for its production of Meemaw McPhearson's Magic Mushrooms at the 2021 Minnesota Fringe Festival! We're currently casting the following role:
Toby Tuttle, early 50’s (probably, we can go 30-70), hotsprings caretaker, plays acoustic guitar, raises goats, widower, in my dream production of this play, Toby doubles as an onstage musician/foley artist, stationed in the corner with his resonator guitar and harmonica, scoring the piece for us.
This is an unfortunately an unpaid position. There will be 4-8 character work rehearsals on Zoom in July, as well as intensive in person rehearsals July 29th-August 4th. The show will perform outdoors at Gluek park August 5th, 6th, 7th, and 13th, 14th, and 15th.
Meemaw McPhearson's Magic Mushrooms is a new play written by Grace Ward and directed by Hadley Evans Nash. This will be the first live performance of the script, following a Zoom reading this past January. The one act play follows the McPhearsons on their first family camping trip since the loss of their beloved patriach. Love, loss, and singing sock puppets--what could be better?
Interested actors should submit a resume and headshot, as well as a 1-2 minute recorded contemporary monologue, to director Hadley Evans Nash at [email protected] by 8pm CST July 4th.
For further logistical information, please see the attached document. Any other questions can be directed at Hadley Evans Nash at [email protected].
