A high quality community theater organization, the Guild Theater provides stipends between $600-900 for directors and music directors. We are located in Northfield, which is about 45 minutes south of downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, with a vibrant theater scene powered by an engaged volunteer community of performers with modest stipends for creative team.
The Northfield Arts Guild is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion in all areas of our work, including the directing, casting and production of our plays. We aim for our arts programming to reflect our community and the world at large, and therefore strongly encourage people of all backgrounds to apply. We strive for a creative and dynamic theater that celebrates individual differences and treats everyone with fairness and respect.
Applications for directing and music directing must be submitted by Sunday, December 1, 2019. You may e-mail your application to Performing Arts Manager, Jared Zeigler at [email protected]. Questions may be directed there as well. Applications may also be dropped off or sent to: Performing Arts Manager, Northfield Arts Guild, 304 Division Street S, Northfield, MN 55057.
When applying, specify why you are interested in directing or music directing Billy Elliot, and what makes you particularly qualified to do so. Please include a resume of experience in support of your project and your initial thoughts about staging the play. Keep in mind that the Guild Theater’s stage is intimate and our budgets are moderate, opening the potential for fabulous creativity. Preproduction will begin in the spring with auditions and rehearsals to be scheduled based on availability. We aim to interview in December and make offers to have a team in place shortly after the new year.
