Education Director
Lyric Arts Education is looking for a passionate and qualified Education Director to direct, manage, and facilitate our Education Program. The responsibility of the Education Director will be to program, maintain, and advance Lyric Arts Education’s School Year Workshop’s, Summer Camps, Private Lesson, Outreach, Internship, and Scholarship Programs. We are specifically looking for a leader who can provide careful and intentional direction and organization to our entire education department.
Throughout the year Lyric Arts Education offers School Year workshops (September-May) and Summer Camps (June-August) for grades K–12. The program also offers private lessons in Fall, Winter/Spring, and Summer trimester, along with Community Education classes and Artist in Residency programs at local schools throughout the school year. In addition, Lyric Arts Education will also attends community events and gives out income-based scholarships all year round.

We offer a safe and supportive environment that welcomes people of all ages, cultures, and level of experience—an artistic home that nurtures students toward a more creative and compassionate community.
Position Summary: The Education Director plays a key role in helping Lyric Arts provide outstanding artistic and learning experiences to young people, as well as fostering a productive and joyful work environment in line with Lyric Arts’ organizational values.
This position serves primarily as an arts administrator. Responsibilities include database and archive management, budget monitoring, assisting with grant administration, program planning, instructor support, maintaining the education calendar, hiring educators, and supporting and communicating with students and families.
The Education Director will assist the Managing Director in allocating resources, creating the education calendar, contracting with instructors, determining course offerings for each season both inside our building and out in the community, and ensuring all students participate in a safe environment that encourages artistic growth.

Hours & Compensation

Starting date: May 1, 2023.

This is a full-time, exempt position. A majority of your work should be done between the hours of 9am–5pm, with at least 25 hours a week taking place in the building, including being on-site while programs take place. Scheduling is flexible to accommodate evening and Saturday workshops where the Education Director’s presence is required.

The yearly salary is $38,000–$42,000, based on qualifications and experience

Requirements

Bachelor of Arts Degree in related field (Musical Theater, Theater Arts, Business Management, Communications, Education, etc.).

3 years of experience in a similar position preferred.

Must clear a routine background check, no criminal record.
