Full Circle Theater Seeking Actors for World Premiere of UNDER THIS ROOF by Barbara Kingsley

Performance Venue: Dowling Studio of the Guthrie Theater

Full Circle Theater is seeking union and non-union actors (actors of all abilities welcome) for its 2018 spring production: The World Premiere of Under This Roof.  Set in 1948 Cleveland, Under This Roof examines the relationship between Mamie & Raymond Warren and Bessie Washington, who comes to take care of Raymond after a recent accident. This heartfelt drama examines complex themes of aging, family and racial expectations in post WWII America.

Rehearsal dates: April 3rd - May 3rd, 2018

Performances:  May 4th – 20th, 2018 (14 performances total)

Audition dates: 7/12/17 and 7/13/17 from 6 pm – 9 pm (by appointment only)

Callbacks {if needed} 7/16/17  4 pm – 6 pm.

Audition will involve reading sides from the script. (See links below.)

Roles to be cast:

MAMIE WARREN: Black American female (45-55). A woman who tempers vulnerability with pragmatic measure; but the losses and injustices are bearing down hard.

RAYMOND WARREN: Black American male (50-60). A man, broken - not by the society, but literally laid low by his recent fall from the roof.

BESSIE WASHINGTON: White American female (55+). Naturally shy & socially awkward; but with a sure hand when it comes to caring for the wounded and broken.

MASON MUELLER: White male (20-25). His disability has robbed him of much social interaction, but when comfortable in his surroundings, he is engaging and astute.
