LAKESHORE PLAYERS’ INCLUSIVITY & DIVERSITY STATEMENT
At Lakeshore Players Theatre, we recognize the systemic change that needs to be made in the theater industry to promote diversity and equity and to celebrate inclusion. For ‘La Cage Aux Folles’, we especially welcome actors that identify with the LGBTQ community, and who have experience dressing in drag.
We are actively investing in creating an environment that is safe, accessible and welcoming for all.
Rehearsals will take place on evenings and potentially weekends from March 6th-April 27th at Lakeshore Players Theatre.
You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have proof of vaccination in order to participate. A booster is encouraged but not required to participate.

WHAT TO PREPARE
Please prepare one monologue (one minute or less), and 16-32 bars of one piece of music in the style of the show that shows off your voice. An accompanist will be provided at auditions, so please make sure your music is legible and clearly marked.
ALBIN (Male-Identifying): A performer of star quality; mature; great powerhouse of a Broadway voice; fine comic actor
GEORGES (Male-Identifying): A star; mature, good singer; energetic, loving and caring; must move well
JEAN-MICHEL (Male-Identifying): Well-mannered, educated; desperately in love with his fiancee, Anne; acts, sings, and moves well
JACOB (Male-Identifying): butler; brilliant comedian who sings and moves well
ANNE (Female-Identifying): Jean-Michel's fiancee; spunky; a superb dancer who acts well
EDOUARD DINDON (Male-Identifying): Anne's father; right-wing radical politician; pompous; quirky; must sing, move well, and be a fine comedian
MARIE DINDON (Female-Identifying): Anne's mother; shy, retiring, sexually repressed and sex-starved; good singer and actress who moves well
JACQUELINE (Female-Identifying): Mature, female friend of Georges and Albin; owns a chic restaurant; attractive, charming; very theatrical; not necessarily a singer
RENAUD (Male-Identifying): Mature friend of Georges and Albin; owns a small cafe
FRANCIS (Male-Identifying): Stage manager in Georges' club; strong actor/dancer.
THE LES CAGELLES- Chantal, Monique, Dermah, Nicole, Hanna, Mercedes, Bitelle, Lo Singh, Odette, Angelique, Phaedra, Clo-Clo. Must dance & move well in heels.
TOWNSPEOPLE - Some include Madame Renaud, Paulette, Hercule, Etienne, Babette, Colette, Tabarro, Pepe
A modest travel stipend will be provided.
