Lakeshore Players Theatre looking for Development Manager

Position: Development Manager

Reports to: Executive Director

Job type: Full-time salaried, some weekend & evenings necessary

Salary: Depending on Qualifications

Primary Duties:

1. Prospect Research and Cultivation

• Individuals, Institutions, and your own list of prospects

• Database and Dropbox updating: thank-you letters, giving histories, correspondence

• Liaise and share findings with staff, volunteer Development Committee and Board of Directors

2. Development Events

• Oversee Annual Gala planning and liaise with Development Committee

• List preparation, invitations, follow up calls, vendor liaison, implementation and reporting for all Fundraising events

3. Stewardship & Gift Reporting

• Process and acknowledge all gifts, send thank-you letters, update Pledge Schedule

• PatronManager reports shared with staff and Board

• Ensure your list of prospects/donors is happy and healthy

• Update donor page in show programs

4. Communications

• Work with Marketing Associate/external designers to develop printed and digital campaign materials (email, letters, post cards, ads, website, etc)

• List preparation for annual fund campaigns, mailings, and events for donors only

5. Grant Research and Writing

• Research and write general operating grants, maintain grant paper files and database correspondence

• Maintain grant calendar and ensure submittals of grants and reports by deadlines

• Maintain relationships with foundations and program managers


• College Degree Preferred or equivalent experience

• Visible leadership skills and desire to advance the organization.

• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills

• Knowledge of industry practices

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.

• Ability to work autonomously as well as being able to work as part of a team

• Knowledge of PatronManager, our salesforce CRM, a plus
