MATILDA Auditions (Dec. 9th and 11th)

Children's Castle Theater (CCT) will be auditioning actors age 8 years - adult for it's winter/spring production of Matilda the Musical on Mon. Dec. 9th and Wed. Dec. 11th, at 6:30pm at the Lakeville Area Arts Center (20965 Holyoke Ave, Lakeville, MN 55044). Performances Feb. 28-March 21, 2020.

This production is part of CCT's condensed cast division and usually features experienced actors who are looking for a professional audition process and heightened rehearsal and performance expectations. Actors cast for productions in this division generally have either 2+ years musical theater experience or 4+ years dance experience - though actors of all experience levels are invited to audition.

Auditions will run on a first-come, first-served basis until complete. Actors are asked to prepare 30-60 seconds of music for the audition (along with, ideally, providing piano accompaniment music). The audition will NOT include a reading/monologue but may include the option to stay late for a dance audition. Additional details on auditions, production roles and what to expect from the production process can be found at the link below. NOTE: While CCT does plan to have to all actors portraying students dance in the production, alternate choreography options will be available for those cast who may have limited physical mobility.

Actors who cannot arrive by 6:00pm or who seek an alternate audition option should email [email protected] with a video submission and resume (optional). Video submission should include 30-60 seconds of you singing a musical theater production number (ideally not from Matilda). Please also include any conflicts you may have between Dec. 16th and performances.

CCT is not currently seeking production staff or pit musicians for this production.

Children's Castle Theater (CCT) is a non-profit organization that has been serving Dakota County for the past 27 years. CCT currently produces three full-length productions each year. Two of the productions feature large ensemble casts and have the goal of offering roles to as many actors as possible (while maintaining performance quality). The third production is part of CCT's condensed cast division and focuses on a smaller cast size (based on the production needs). Actors in the condensed cast division are generally highly experienced and ready to commit to heightened performance expectations and rehearsals processes. Previous condensed cast productions have included; Disney's Newsies, Billy Elliot, Joseph...Dreamcoat and Little Shop of Horrors.
