Morris Park Players seeking Director and Music Director for Ragtime

Morris Park Players in Northeast Minneapolis is seeking an experienced director and music director for their upcoming spring 2023 production of Ragtime the Musical. Ragtime will be produced by Morris Park Players with rights secured from Music Theatre International (MTI).

These are PAID positions. Director stipend range starts at $1500 and is based on experience. Music director stipend range starts at $1000 and is based on experience.

We are committed to selecting shows and putting together casts that are reflective of our community in Northeast Minneapolis. We have an amazing network and have a lot of support from our community, however, we understand that Ragtime is a bold choice for a community theater. If we can’t cast it properly, we will work with the director and music director we hire to put up an alternative show. Please be prepared to discuss ideas for attracting a diverse group for auditions, and an alternate plan to activate if we are unable to cast Ragtime.

DATES:
Director Interviews - Sunday October 9
Music Director Interviews - Late October
Auditions/Callbacks - November (before Thanksgiving)
Rehearsals - Beginning Early January
Performances - March 31, April 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16

Rehearsals and performances will take place a Edison High School in Northeast. 

Once a director is hired for the show, the director will work with the producers to hire the rest of the crew, including the music director. The director and the producer will work together to finalize the rehearsal calendar. Stipends will be made available to cast and orchestra based on ticket sales. Additional info coming soon.
