COMPENSATION: Duluth Playhouse will provide extended stay hotel housing for all out of town artists. Round trip transportation from your home to Duluth will be covered. Duluth Playhouse operates under an AEA Guest Artist Tier II contract with weekly pay of $487 for equity actors. Non-equity salary is negotiated with the producer.

Seeking strong singer/dancer/actors for the following roles:

Ensemble/Understudy Coalhouse Walker Jr: A proud and talented pianist. A Black man who believes that he can take part in the new America and will be treated fairly. (Male presenting – can play age 20 to 40)
Vocal range top: A4
Vocal range bottom: G2

Ensemble/Understudy Sarah/Understudy Sarah's Friend: Sarah is a young Black woman with a strong will and innocent spirit. She falls deeply in love with Coalhouse and experiences tremendous loss in her life. Sarah’s Friend is a Black woman who mourns the loss of her dear friend with a powerful and heart wrenching song. (Female presenting – can play age 20 to 40)

Ensemble/Understudy Booker T. Washington: A brilliant Black social activist. He is a gifted public speaker, author, and educator. (Male presenting – can play age 30 to 50)
