Video Submissions for MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET directed by Christine O'Grady, SDC

The Old Log Theatre is seeking 6M/1F for an upcoming production of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET that opens in June of 2023 and runs through February 2024.  Callbacks will be held at the Old Log Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 17th.  

Rehearsals begin May 9, 2023 and extend until June 1, 2023.

We will rehearse 34 hours/week. A combination of daytime, evening, and weekend hours will be utilized based on casting needs OR based on final casting.      

First public performance will be on Friday, June 1st, 2023. 

Show runs 4 performances per week until Saturday, February 17th, 2024. 

Thursdays @ 1:00p, Fridays and Saturdays @ 7:30p, Sundays @ 2p.

Additional shows could be added if demand is high enough.  Proper notice and compensation will be provided if necessary.


$500 per week.  If performances are added, rate will be $125 per show.

The musical captures the memorable day when four Rock n' Roll greats made music history. On December 4, 1956, an auspicious twist of fate brought together Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley at Sun Records' storefront studio in Memphis, TN. The man who made it happen was the "Father of Rock'n'Roll," Sam Phillips, who discovered them all. This was the only occasion the four legends-to-be played together, and it has come to be known as one of the greatest rock jam sessions of all time.

Candidates should prepare a song made famous by one of these four and must be able to accompany themselves on either guitar or piano. Those called back for Presley, Cash, and Perkins should bring their own acoustic or electric guitar, while Lewis candidates will be provided with a piano on site.


ELVIS – 20s; male; actor/singer/guitar player to portray Elvis in his 20s at the beginning of his career. Must be familiar with his music and able to play guitar; should sound somewhat like Elvis without being an “impersonator”.

In the production, Elvis sings:

“Memories Are Made Of This”
“That’s All Right”
“Long Tall Sally”
“Peace In The Valley”
“Hound Dog”

JERRY LEE LEWIS – 20s; male; actor/singer/pianist; he was rock & roll’s legendary piano prodigy and celebrated “Last Man Standing.” Must be a superb piano player, able to play like Jerry Lee Lewis; fun, energetic; comic skills a plus.

In the production, Jerry Lee Lewis sings:

“Real Wild Child”
“Great Balls Of Fire”
“Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On”

CARL PERKINS – mid 20s; male; actor/singer/guitar player (lead guitar); he was the American pioneer of rockabilly music and best known for his song “Blue Suede Shoes”; Must be an excellent lead guitarist.

In the production, Carl Perkins sings:

“Who Do You Love?”
“My Babe”
“See You Later, Alligator"

JOHNNY CASH– mid 20s; male; actor/singer/guitar player to portray Johnny cash at the dawn of his epic career. Must be familiar with his music and able to play guitar; should sound somewhat like Johnny without being an “impersonator”.

In the production, Johnny Cash sings:

“Folsom Prison Blues”
“Sixteen Tons”
“I Walk The Line”
“Riders In The Sky”

We will also be casting the roles of:

Sam Phillips – the manager and narrator

Dyanne – the girlfriend.  In the production, sings "Fever"

Fluke  - the drummer


For Elvis, Jerry Lee, Carl Perkins, and Johny Cash please submit a video of yourself singing a 1950's Rock & Roll song and accompanying yourself on one of the above instruments.
For Dyanne please submit a video of yourself singing a 1950's Rock &Roll song.  You do not need to accompany yourself.
For Sam Phillips please submit a video of yourself performing a 3 minute story-telling monologue.
